What is a preference type?
Many meetings offer the attendee a list of elective events. From this list, the attendee can choose which events they prefer to attend. Preference type allows the user to relate elective events to the preferences that an attendee might express. These preferences can be defined as general or specific as the user determines. Examples may include: Snorkeling, Golf, Horseback Riding, or if events are day specific, Thursday Golf, Tuesday Snorkeling. Events can be assigned to each event package according to the preference types selected by an individual.
The simplest method for determining the correct list of Preference Types is as follows: Define a distinct preference type for each distinct event preference that an attendee can select on the registration form.
